![]() Today, I’m so excited to share our trip with you. Three full days and four nights felt like an adequate time to dip our toes into the highly-acclaimed Montage experience. We arrived on a Thursday evening and stayed through Monday afternoon. After hearing about it for seemingly months, I was so excited to experience all this this gorgeous property, set on 22,000 acres in the South Carolina low country, had to offer! After researching a few destinations we could reach within driving distance and safely social distance at, we decided to book a stay at the beautiful Montage Palmetto Bluff. This past weekend, Andrew had a couple of days off from work. I’m hoping management can tweak these service issues so that the property can truly be a 5 star experience.DRESS (wear a slip underneath) | HAT | LOAFERS | SUNGLASSES | EARRINGS I would definitely recommend the Montage and plan to return. Eco tours (walking and on the boat) were also very good. Our dinners at Octagon and The River House were outstanding. It was obnoxious and detracted from what should have been a relaxing experience. My massage therapist stated additional offerings and was not pushy, but the esthetician I had could easily be a used-car salesman with her hard selling for additional services. Spa facilities are wonderful but therapists must be instructed to up sell as much as possible. Very frustrating to have to deal with this for a very simple order. It took 3 calls and a manger to finally get it corrected and taken off of the bill. Then maybe don’t highlight the route on the map? We had some snags with room service dinner, as the order was delivered missing chicken (for our salads), limes (for our San pelligrino) and spoons for our dessert. When we asked her about this the next day, she said we shouldn’t go there. However, the concierge indicated a route through a private neighborhood which was clearly marked “residents only”. We had a champagne picnic one day that was wonderful. However, the towels were VERY worn-one even had a small hole in it! The property itself is beautiful and the walking trails are lovely. Our room (a king in one of the guest houses) was clean and the furnishings were nice. We LOVED how quiet the property is and how nice most of the staff were. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. If you are on the fence about trying this property, DO IT - you will not be disappointed.… MPB is so close to Savannah Airport, and a super easy drive up to Charleston for a day or two on either end of your trip. ![]() I always think it's weird when people comment on employees at a hotel because it seems pretentious, but I would be remiss not to mention Richard (valet), Zulfira (front desk), and Firoze (rooms) who are all three so devoted and passionate about the property, it's contagious! They do not miss an opportunity to make guests feel welcome and spoiled. ![]() All dining options are outstanding, and housekeeping is impeccable (and I am very hard to please on that one.) The pool area is beautiful and has a great vibe, and our favorite on-property is electric bikes for miles and miles of safe and beautiful trails in and out of the residential area and golf course. ![]() The rooms are beautifully decorated and have every possible thoughtful detail and convenience, and we especially love the larger bathroom size. We loved it so much we came back two summers in a row! First, I should say that we live in coastal southern California, so we are lucky to have natural beauty on a daily basis, but there is something about the tranquility in this locale that draws us in.
